About Gilead Ministries

Cy Finnerty experienced a dramatic salvation in Kirkland, Washington on the 1st Sunday of March, 1981. Subsequently, in Water Baptism, he was delivered from the bondage of the flesh manifested in long term addictions to recreational drugs, alcohol, and perverted sexuality.

The day after his salvation, he began studying the Word of God and this has continued for twenty-seven years.

Gilead Ministries first began to operate as "Gilead Evangelistic Ministries" in Seattle Washington in 1983 and Cy Finnerty worked continuously in various levels of the evangelistic ministry on the Streets, in Rescue Missions and Prison Ministries.

The Gilead Ministries Logo was given to the ministry in Houston, Texas in 1986. At that time the Lord called CY and his wife Dorothy to the international mission field in the Caribbean and South America. After this Mission experience, they were called to the Middle East in 1998.

They have carried the good news to a number of nations including Brazil, Canada, China, Haiti, Israel, Jamaica, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Turkey, Dubai and the United Arab Emirates.

When this revelation of our Salvation by Grace is received and acted upon by faith which is demonstrated by obedience, Salvation promotes healing in the whole person - body, soul and spirit.

The Gilead Logo reflects the Shield of our Faith by which we now stand in the fullness of the Providential Grace.

When the Word of God, exposited in the Scriptures, is illuminated by the Holy Spirit - represented here by the Menorah - it reveals the work of Salvation; the finished work of the Cross in our life.

The Word of God, The LORD God, became flesh for our benefit.

As the Son of Man, the seed of the woman promised to Adam, the LORD God has satisfied the Law of Sin and Death broken by Adam. He has taken away the sin of the world and now offers us the free gift of eternal life.

He has poured out the Spirit of God on all flesh. We can now be born again, converted from our former life in the flesh to a renewed form of life in the Spirit. This is the eternal life.

Gilead Ministries takes its name from a revelation of Jeremiah 8:22

"Is there no Balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then has not the health of the daughter of my people been restored?"

Cy and Dorothy have witnessed many spectacular healings as they have shared the good news of this Salvation and new life in the nations.

Gilead Ministries is an Elijah "end-times" ministry calling the "church" to repent, to turn away from its religious vanities and to return to God before the end of this age; an end that will bring judgment on all unrighteousness.

In the Book of Revelation, the Church at Laodicea represents the World Church that now exists in the last days of this age. The Spirit of the Lord Himself, says this to the Church:

"Because you say, I am rich and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing, and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked, I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see."

In the deluded end-time religion of this age, there is no revelation of the Word of God. Consequently, there is no Life in the church. Holding to a form of godliness they deny the Spirit of God its rightful place in the church. Therefore, there can be no healing in this church and many of its members suffer and die before their time.

The Lord calls this worldly Church to repentance and promises them restoration if they return to him.

If they do not return, they will be left out when the true church comes into its inheritance in the Day of the Restoration, when the Lord returns and restores the Kingdom of God, to the righteous heirs, the Saints.
